The Nike AF-1 Foamposite Pro Low: Fusion of two legendary looks

The Nike Air Force 1 Foamposite Pro Low Men's Shoe celebrates the 30th anniversary of a legendary basketball shoe that broke the mold. Combining the lightweight cushioning of the original Air Force 1 with the seamless construction of Nike Foamposite technology in a low-profile cut, this hybrid delivers a smooth ride and plenty of style.

Benefits

  • Synthetic upper for durability and style
  • Visible Air-Sole unit at heel for lightweight cushioning
  • Stitch-free design for comfort
  • Rubber outsole for traction and durability

Air Force 1 Origins

Transcending foot coverage since 1982, this once hoops shoe was named after Air Force One-the aircraft that carries the President of the United States. It was the first basketball shoe to house Nike Air, revolutionizing the game for players like Moses Malone and Charles Barkley while rapidly gaining traction around the world, from the hardwood to the blacktop to the core of hip-hop culture. Today the Air Force 1 stays true to its roots with soft, springy cushioning and a massive midsole, but the Air technology takes a back seat to the shoe's status as an icon.

Foamposite Origins

Nike broke all the rules of traditional shoe creation when it built the first Nike Air Foamposite, an innovative design with an upper and sole made of the same synthetic material and absolutely no stitching-a feat that some deemed impossible. Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway immediately adopted the shoe when he caught a glimpse of it while working with Nike designers. After Penny's endorsement, it wasn't long before college players jumped on the bandwagon. The Nike Air Foamposite became the most unique shoe on the hardwood in 1997.
