This is a good javelin shoe from nike, but they aren't quite there yet. The shoe is very durable due to the heavy duty toe shield, but this also makes it uncomfortable when blocking due to how hard the front of the shoe is. The shoe is also very heavy in the upper (they definitely need to use flywire in the upper). Also the shoes feel a little slow due to their weight. A use of max air in the heel would really help to make a softer impact on the block. The original zoom jav's (not elites) were more comfortable, but also much less durable.

I use these shoes for Javelin on a tartan and grass track. I use the provided pyramid spikes at all times, no worries ever. Supportive on both surfaces, and I have a very wild block.
These shoes are definately great training shoes for an older athlete, because of the support they offer, with a high cut and ankle lock. However, the weight of the shoe is fairly big. This can slow down the speed of the throw, but a developed thrower can get used to this rather quickly.
The top of the shoe wears out fairly well, but once worn out it does look a bit weird, however the anti-glaze feature of these shoes allows for a longer life for the shoe. I would suggest getting these shoes tight, otherwise the ankle lock is obsolete.
You don't have to worry about your shoe laces coming undone during the throw, because of the zipping compartment in the shoe. It allows for the individual loops of a lace to go down a single side each, with the words "Go Deep" Written in there for a bit of motivation. The individual loops space allows for equal spread of the shoe lace bulge, so the ankle lock smoothly fits over the foot.
Whilst the shoes are very high cut, and more waterproof than their competitors, they are still light weight for their size. I highly suggest these throwing shoes for training, as they don't wear as much and are definately in the top three shoes available on the market in my honest opinion.
