Best long distance shoes i've owned

I'm no speedster and run just sub-5 min KMs and 3:30 marathon pb. However, despite the protestations of the store owner that these shoes were for short distances, I bought the Lunaracer+ to train for and run a marathon and found it's light frame yet surprising support made the large amounts of training needed almost effortless (as effortless as possible). After running about 400 miles in these (without socks and no blisters) I decided to put them to rest and purchased a new pair of Nike's LunarGlide 3, based on the recommendation they had better cushioning and were better suited to long distances. The alternative 'LunarGlides' feel like lead weights in comparison and after only 50 miles or so I have swapped back to my old Lunaracer's, which even after 400 miles have more spring and much more speed - they really are so light you barely notice them, but get surprising amours of evenly distributed cushioning with every step. A fantastic shoe - and don't be put off using it for longer distances.

Evolutionary, not revolutionary

When I first bought these trainers, I was struck by their aesthetic appeal and for being very light. However, as many reviews have commented about, the shoes are far too narrow and I suggest that you purchase one size larger. Another problem I've noted is the lack of cushion at the heal causes frequent friction burns and cuts, no matter what adjustments I make. Good sneakers, but not great.
