NIKE ELEMENT SHIELD MAX

This is a brilliant winter running jacket. It has all the features I was looking for and a few more. It has loops for your thumbs, plus cuffs that fold over your fingers to keep your hands completely protected; an integral neck warmer; three good, usable pockets; plenty of reflective stripes; zip that opens from the top and the bottom. It is warm and feels cosy when you put it on (unlike some other water resistant jackets, which are cold on first wearing). The fabric is soft and comfortable. I haven't yet worn it in a downpour and it is advertised as water resistant rather than waterproof, so I have yet to see how much rain it does keep out. I am a standard size 10 but bought the medium (rather than small) which fits very comfortably, with room for another layer underneath when it gets really chilly out there. The hood is small and neat and adjusts tightly so it would stay on even in strong wind (it is also detachable). It also looks nice on and I am v pleased with it. I bought the black which I thought was smarter than the grey. In store - haven't seen it on the website - they also do a pale yellowy/greeny colour, which (although sounds really horrible from the way I'm describing it) is actually a really lovely colour and would be great for someone more concerned about being visible (I do most of my running in the park, so wasn't so concerned about this). I highly recommend this jacket is you're serious about running whatever the weather. The only downside is the price - it is a huge investment money wise but definitely worth it for me.
